CANOEKIDS COACHING RESOURCE PAGE
Welcome to the CanoeKids coach resource page. On this page you can find information on the CanoeKids program, as well as fun games and activities you can incorporate into your practices. In addition, you will find other resources that will help in working with canoe-kayak athletes in the FUNdamentals Stage of Long Term Athlete Development.
The Canoekids program is directed at paddlers in the “FUNdamentals” stage of development (children 6 to 11 years of age).
The objective is for children to learn fundamental canoe and kayak skills the CanoeKids way, and to encourage a lifelong interest in paddling, thereby enhancing their quality of life and health.
In addition, the CanoeKids program is designed to:
- Have fun!
- Help children develop water safety awareness and skills.
- Help children develop confidence on the water.
- Provide children an opportunity to paddle and socialize with their friends in a team environment.
- Build overall motor skills.
