NARS Cancelled
As you know, CanoeKayak Canada had proposed an inaugural race series for 2012 that would incorporate a new regatta in Welland, the site of the 2013 Junior and U23 Sprint Worlds, along with the existing regattas at Rideau and Lake Placid. Our deadline of January 31st to reach our international target, along with equipment requirements, was not met and as a result we do not have the minimum numbers to ensure we are able to run a meaningful, risk-free event. Regrettably, this is to confirm the cancellation of the Welland Regatta and NARS 2012. Rideau, Regina and Lake Place will still take place as important domestic competitions and they remain important competitions for our program.
