Bio

Angus Mortimer has been a powerhouse on the men’s kayak team for several years. He competed at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games in K4 where his crew placed ninth in the final. He was the 2007 Pan American Champion in K1 1000 and he has raced K1 several times at the World level. His top result was a third place finish in K1 500 at a World Cup in Duisburg, Germany in 2010. He also placed sixth in K1 1000 on the same course in a 2011 World Cup. 

 

Angus is one of the National Team’s most musically talented athletes. He has completed a music degree from Carleton University and spends much of his time mixing tracks and DJ-ing

 

Many of Angus’ family members are involved with CanoeKayak. His brother Ian was a National Team canoer for seven years. His sister Lucy coached at the Cascade Club in Gatineau, QC and his mom is a Masters paddler.
