Denhollander and Dededer advance to Semi-Final at 2010 Canoe Slalom Junior World Championships

Foix, France - Jazmyne Denhollander (Chilliwack, BC) and Marissa Dededer (Calgary, AB) advance to the semi-final round after first day action at the 2010 Junior World Championships. Denhollander finished 18th, and Dededer 27th, easily making the top-30 cut. Rachael Penman (Ottawa, ON) was the other Canadian in the field; however, a 50-second penalty on the first run and troubles on her second run resulted in her missing the cut by a mere 3.14 seconds. Denhollander and Dededer will race again on Sunday, and the three girls will race together in the team event on Saturday.

Tomorrow, Canada's Michael Tayler, Max-Emile Petit-Clerc, Adrian Cole wil race in the K1-M qualifications, and Alexandra McGee (Ottawa, ON) will race in the C1-W qualifications.
