JUNIOR COACH JOB DESCRIPTION

OBJECTIVES:
1. Promote a fun, supportive, organized and instructional environment
2. Enjoy, motivate and gain respect of children ages 9-15
3. Promote teambuilding and fair play
4. Treat all children with equal opportunity and respect
5. Excite children about the sport of kayak/canoe paddling and encourage them
to continue

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Canoe Kids Course Certification
2. Standard First Aid w CPR Level “C”
3. Pleasure Craft Operator Certification
4. Knowledge of RHCC Policies
5. Any programs as required by the Town of Richmond Hill

DUTIES:
1. Ensure compliance with all club safety standards and regulations (to be
supplied).
2. Teach water safety
3. Teach basic stroke skills
4. Interface with parents/guardians in a professional, positive, constructive
manner
5. Organize and teach on-water and on-land games
